Silvia Herlambang is an experienced teacher of Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology at the German School Jakarta (DSJ). Since May 2006, she has been part of our dedicated teaching team, bringing her passion for the natural sciences and her many years of teaching experience into her daily work with students.

She completed her studies at the Technical University of Berlin and Universitas Parahyangan Bandung. For over 15 years, she has been devoted to teaching, continuously developing her professional expertise and personal growth. With her deep knowledge and enthusiasm for science, Frau Silvia makes a valuable contribution to learning at DSJ. Frau Silvia became a teacher not only to share knowledge but also to instill values and help her students build a strong foundation for a confident and fulfilling life. She finds great joy in accompanying her students’ development, supporting them in meeting challenges with curiosity and optimism.

At DSJ, she especially appreciates the family-like atmosphere, where respect, collaboration, and mutual support are part of everyday school life. She believes this environment provides the ideal foundation for learning and growing together. Her educational motto is: “Learning is fun – discovering, wondering, and growing together!” This belief shapes her teaching approach, where curiosity and the joy of learning always come first. In her free time, Frau Silvia enjoys traveling and sports—activities that give her energy and inspiration for her teaching.

With her sense of humor and positive attitude, she knows how to bring lightness even to challenging moments. Her favorite quote by Nelson Mandela is: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Her message to her students is: “Every day is a new chance to learn, to grow, and to make the world a little better.”
