Quality education first and foremost comes from highly qualified and passionate teaching professionals. Germany is renowned to have some of the world's
highest standards for education and training of teachers, who are required to get a University degree equivalent to a master's degree. As an
Excellent German School Abroad, we are supported by the German government with a constant inflow of qualified and specially prepared German teachers, in addition to locally hired talent that receives advanced training.
DSJ teachers are a highly qualified, versatile, and inspired group of people, who do not just see teaching as a job but as a calling. To ensure the highest teaching standards and professional development our teachers participate in pedagogical and academic workshops and training within the global DAS network (German Schools abroad).

Empathy and Soft Skills — focus on successfully connecting with children and conveying knowledge
Early childhood education means the self-education of each child, discovering the world for oneself while experiencing emotional security and comfort. Independence and responsibility for one’s own learning are core and recurring themes throughout the DSJ education. Our educational work is based on the present moment development of each child and its individual needs, experiences, feelings, interests, and abilities. These form the starting point for our proven pedagogy that guides your child on its journey of self-discovery.
When entering primary school, every child has distinct learning requirements due to different educational backgrounds. Children who started their early childhood education at the German School Jakarta benefit from a seamless educational experience, while children with other pre-school education or even without any pre-school experience will feel at home in no time. The school approaches this variety with a pedagogy of diversity. The aim is to create a learning environment in which the children feel welcome and valued. They have the experience of being perceived and accepted according to their own unique individual development.
The German secondary education is very comprehensive and versatile to ensure broad academic knowledge, yet allows for a certain level of personal preferences. The goal is to prepare our students as best as possible for higher education.
