Novy Nur Permata is a teacher at the Deutsche Schule Jakarta, teaching Indonesian and German as a Foreign Language (DaF). She holds an M.A. in German as a Foreign Language from Saarland University, Saarbrücken, and a B.A. in German Studies from Universitas Indonesia. Frau Novy has been teaching since 2009 and has been at DSJ since 2012.

Frau Novy became a teacher because she has always been passionate about languages and interacting with different people. She values supporting others in their learning. The best part of her job is seeing students grow, develop, and become the best version of themselves.

What Frau Novy values most about DSJ is the openness, diversity, and warm community.

Her pedagogical motto is: “Curiosity begins every learning – and with joy it stays alive.”

Her hobbies include trying new things, exploring cultures, and enjoying art. Her favorite quote is: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela. Her special talent is embroidery.
