Hi, I'm Nina Heffner. Since October 2022, I have been responsible for KITA management at DSJ. With a background in social education and experience in various countries, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my role.

In 2000, I graduated from the Technical College of Social Pedagogy in Stuttgart and worked as the head of a social pedagogical group home at the Stuttgart Youth Welfare Office. During this time, I also became a qualified systemic family counselor, which led me to focus on family counseling.

After eight years in youth welfare, I embarked on a journey around the world, gaining valuable experience in crisis and project management through my work with various NGOs in the Philippines, Uganda, and Congo.

Following that, I pursued a part-time training as a specialist in teaching German as a second and foreign language. I then took on the role of DaZ/DaF coordinator at the German School Shanghai Pudong. Since then, my main focus has been on supporting the youngest age group. As a KITA director, I have had the opportunity to apply my diverse experiences to the daily life of kindergartners in Accra and now in Jakarta.

True to my motto, "Life is like a book, and those who do not travel only read a little of it!" (Jean Paul), I am particularly excited about the DSJ's intercultural and linguistic diversity.
