Dr. Jörg Dietze studied at Martin Luther University Halle/Saale and Leipzig University. He has been a teacher since 1997 and, starting in August 2025, serves as the Principal of the German School Jakarta, where he also teaches Biology and Chemistry.

Dr. Dietze became a teacher because he is passionate about guiding and supporting young people, sharing in their growth and learning journeys. The most rewarding moments in his profession are when students’ eyes light up with pride after achieving something they once thought impossible. What makes DSJ special for him was evident even during his first short visit: the warm welcome, the openness, and the vibrant sense of community across all ages and nationalities. In the spirit of Goethe, he describes it as: “Here I am human, here I may be.”

His educational motto is: “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence ends.”

In his free time, Dr. Dietze enjoys playing volleyball and football, reading, traveling, and exploring alternative healing methods and energy work. His favorite quote is: “Carpe diem – seize the day!”
His personal message: “There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” (William Shakespeare)
