Halo, nama saya Jana Breuer, dan saya dari Jerman.

For me, these are not just my first Indonesian words but also the beginning of an exciting new chapter. Born and raised in Erlangen in the South of Germany, I spent the second half of my life in the North. I completed my schooling in a city next to Hamburg, studied in Kiel, and worked at a Gymnasium in Lübeck during my clerkship.

My heart has been passionate about the STEM subjects since I was young. I earned a Master of Education for teaching Mathematics and Chemistry from Grade five to Grade 13. In addition to that, I studied Computer Science to get the opportunity to teach children from Grade five to Grade ten. For me, teaching is not about instructing but making things comprehensible. Unfortunately, my subjects are often associated with boring theory and prejudices, but they offer so many possibilities. That's why I'm looking forward to triggering "aha" moments on the other side of the world and creating enthusiasm for understanding our world better, even outside the classroom.

During my various volunteer projects in Ghana and Malawi, mainly at small government schools, I discovered my enthusiasm for working and living with other cultures. At the same time, it has shown me that a good education is the key to participation in today's society and a fulfilled life. Different cultural experiences enrich teaching in many ways. From this, we learn a lot from each other.
