Ms. Nissen is our English and German teacher at DSJ. She graduated from the University of Lüneburg and started to work as class teacher in Hamburg Eidelstedt with behaviorally and mentally challenged grade 9/10 students. She joined DSJ in 2017 and is currently teaching class 8, 9 and 4. She is also responsible for the acquisition of DSJ’s interns. That’s why they are always so good looking ;)
She has previously worked as journalist for various German magazines and shown many thousands of tourists beautiful Hamburg as tour guide on red double decker busses. As she has always liked to live abroad, she spent a year in the USA as senior student and worked as language assistant across Scotland. Biggest advantages of living in Indonesia: “The people, the vibe, the weather!”
During her first four years in Indonesia, she and her husband have become very involved in taking care of stray animals. They share the house with 18 cats, 2 dogs, 4 lovebirds and 1 turtle! “When we go back to Germany in another four years, our former two bedroom flat won’t do anymore, I suppose!”
