Under the theme "Involve and Connect," the event engaged our school community in meaningful discussions and actions to make a positive impact on our planet.
The week kicked off with an inspiring Opening Event in the DSJ Auditorium. The highlight was a short presentation and a following workshop with Benedict Wermter, also known as "Bule Sampah," a renowned German environmental influencer in Indonesia. Benedict's presentation shed light on pressing waste issues and motivated everyone to take action towards a cleaner, greener future.
Throughout the week, students from grades 1 to 12 participated in various workshops and activities focused on practical sustainability solutions, for example creating organic plastics. Our youngest learners in Kindergarten and Preschool also engaged in special projects, fostering early awareness about environmental stewardship.
The Green Week culminated in a Closing Ceremony at the auditorium, where we presented a compilation video showcasing the week’s activities and achievements. A significant moment was the presentation of a donation cheque to Benedict via Zoom to support his SampApp initiative. Following the ceremony, the school community had the opportunity to appreciate the numerous project results displayed in the school hall.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make Green Week 2024 a memorable and impactful event. Let’s continue our journey towards a sustainable future!
