What a day! On September 3rd, 24 bright and eager children took their very first steps as first graders at DSJ.

The Aula was filled with music and laughter as our Grundschule and primary students welcomed the newcomers with songs and dances. Then our Deputy Headmaster, Pascale Mandel, and our Head of Primary School, Luisa Prawirakoesoemah, introduced one of the most beloved German traditions – the Schultüte. Together with the children, they opened one to discover the surprises waiting inside.

After plenty of photos and happy faces, the new first graders walked into their classrooms for their very first lessons. While the children got started, parents stayed in the Aula for more information, before reuniting an hour later to see their kids proudly settled in their new learning spaces.

💛 An exciting beginning – and the start of a wonderful school journey for our new Grade 1 students at Deutsche Schule Jakarta – Welcome! 👏🏻
